An Indian man drunkenly slipped into a pothole at an under-construction road in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh and was buried alive. He was covered in molten tar and would have gone unnoticed had residents not discovered the man's arm sticking out from the tarred road.

150 Pilgrims killed in Hajj stampede

No fewer than 150 pilgrims were killed today September 24th in a stampede at the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. According to reports, 400 other pilgrims were injured in the stampede which happened in Mina, on the outskirts of the holy city of Mecca.

An elderly man's sweet serenade to his dying wife while in hospice care is warming the hearts of viewers across the globe. Erin Solari recorded her grandfather Howard Serena, 92, singing "You'll Never Know" by Rosemary Clooney and Harry James to his wife Laura, 93, on Sept. 12. Laura currently suffers from dementia.

‎A trailer conductor was killed this morning at Coker along the Badagry expressway in Lagos. Eyewitnesses say the unidentified conductor had called on a trailer driver to help him move his own trailer forward so he can offload the goods in his trailer. As the driver tried moving the vehicle, he suffered brake failure and pressed the conductor against another trailer. The deceased died instantly.

Man in coma was awake for 12 years but couldn't move or speak

A man, Martin Pistorius, who slipped into a coma aged 12, has revealed the living nightmare of waking up from the coma only to find out that he was unable to move or communicate or do anything for himself for 12 years. And to his horror, when he did awake, he was unable to communicate his return. The South African man was diagnosed with a debilitating form of meningitis in the late 1980s and was left unable to move, speak or even make eye contact.

The Catholic Church of Annunciation, Kubwa, was upgraded as a Parish by the Archdiocese of Abuja and less than 3 months after the upgrade, suspected armed robbers stormed it and carted away valuable equipment and a Toyota Camry.  The robbers forced their way into compounds and carted away whatever they could lay their hands on.

Ahmed has said he brought the clock he made to MacArthur High School in Irving last week to show a teacher. Officials say he was arrested after another teacher saw it and became concerned. Ahmed wasn't charged, but he was suspended from school for three days.

At least seven people were killed and more than ten wounded after a car bomb exploded near the entrance of Somalia palace in Mogadishu, Somalia. The explosion reportedly happened as delegates and journalists were gathering for a ceremony. Alshabaab terrorist group have claimed responsibility for the attack. It says in a statement that the targets were "enemies of Islam"

Samantha Kudeweh (left) was on Sunday, September 20 attacked by one of Hamilton Zoo's Sumatran tigers in New Zealand. According to local reports, the tiger attacked the 43-year-old mother of two while the animal's enclosure was being cleaned. The Zoo will be closed until Thursday Sept. 24th.

SA Police arrests man after 21 pieces of female private parts are found in his freezer

A father of 2, 58 year old Danish man was arrested in South Africa after pieces of female genitalia were found in a freezer in his home. Police spokesman, Hangwani Mulaudzi said that 21 pieces of women’s genitalia were found stored in plastic bags in a freezer. Police also discovered anaesthetic and other surgical implements in his home. Mulaudzi said: “We are not sure how many victims there are; we are in the process of tracing them’ The spokesman said police were alerted by one of the man’s victims. The man was arrested on Thursday in the city of Bloemfontein in the central Free State province. They are asking women who have been assaulted by the man to come forward.  Mulaudzi couldn’t identify the man’s motive. It is not known if the body parts are from 21 different women.
