  Families of the 224 people killed in a plane crash in Egypt are flying to the disaster site this evening as investigations continue into what caused the disaster. All passengers and crew members on board Metrojet flight 9268 died when it went down in the Sinai peninsula on Saturday morning just minutes into its journey. Here is what we know so far:

A Kogalymavia passenger plane carrying 224 people has crashed in Egypt's Sinai penunsula. The airliner took off from the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheik this morning, and was heading for Russia, according to aviation sources, when it disappeared from radar. It's believed the plane was mainly carrying Russian tourists.

A plane caught fire at the Fort Lauderdale, Florida airport today, sending passengers fleeing for their lives out of the aircraft's emergency slides. A pigeon in Russia caused a three car smash when it landed on a busy road and refused to fly away. The crash was captured on another car's dashboard camera - showing not only the aftermath but also the culprit. In the moments leading up to the collision, the pigeon can be seen on the pavement, before deciding to march headfirst into two-way traffic.

The woman in the central city of Zlitin gave birth to a set of septuplets in Zlitin Hospital, Libya. The Deputy Manager of the hospital Osama Al-Sari said that the septuplets are 6 boys and a girl weighing between 400 to 1100 grams, pointing out that the delivery surgery was carried out by three gynaecologists and one paediatrician.

Four suicide bombers lost their lives while attempting to attack a Military checkpoint in Maiduguri, Borno state today October 25th. Eyewitnesses say the suicide bombers, all female, were approaching the military checkpoint when the bomb strapped on them detonated before they got to their target point. Their remains have been deposited at the Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri.

Taloa Foster, 33, was charged with child endangerment. Witnesses said the toddler grabbed the wheel and steered the truck across lanes of traffic after his mother tumbled out of vehicle on Wednesday.
