Egypt plane crash: What we know so far about Metrojet flight 9268

  Families of the 224 people killed in a plane crash in Egypt are flying to the disaster site this evening as investigations continue into what caused the disaster. All passengers and crew members on board Metrojet flight 9268 died when it went down in the Sinai peninsula on Saturday morning just minutes into its journey. Here is what we know so far:

Russian plane with 224 passengers onboard crashes over Sinai, Egypt

A Kogalymavia passenger plane carrying 224 people has crashed in Egypt's Sinai penunsula. The airliner took off from the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheik this morning, and was heading for Russia, according to aviation sources, when it disappeared from radar. It's believed the plane was mainly carrying Russian tourists.

Passengers flee as plane bursts into flames on the tarmac at Fort Lauderdale airport in Florida

A plane caught fire at the Fort Lauderdale, Florida airport today, sending passengers fleeing for their lives out of the aircraft's emergency slides. The plane was engulfed in thick black flames before airport firefighters came and extinguished the fire. The Deputy Manager of the hospital Osama Al-Sari said that the septuplets are 6 boys and a girl weighing between 400 to 1100 grams, pointing out that the delivery surgery was carried out by three gynaecologists and one paediatrician.

Four female suicide bombers die in failed attack in Maiduguri

Four suicide bombers lost their lives while attempting to attack a Military checkpoint in Maiduguri, Borno state today October 25th. Eyewitnesses say the suicide bombers, all female, were approaching the military checkpoint when the bomb strapped on them detonated before they got to their target point. Their remains have been deposited at the Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri.

An Oklahoma woman has been arrested after police say she drunkenly fell out of her pickup truck and her three-year-old son steered the vehicle to safety across a four-lane road. Taloa Foster, 33, was charged with child endangerment. Witnesses said the toddler grabbed the wheel and steered the truck across lanes of traffic after his mother tumbled out of vehicle on Wednesday.
