26-year-old banker, Daniel Makanjuola, has been arrested by the Police in Lagos for using a forged West African Senior School Certificate and Lagos State University’s statement of result to get a job at Wema Bank Plc, Marina branch,Lagos Island. The police said Makanjuola pretended that he was a degree holder in marketing with Second Class, Upper Division, and had also provided a forged National Youth Service Corps discharge certificate and a reference letter to the bank before he gained employment. Oscar Pistorius released from prison, under house arrest

Oscar Pistorius was released from prison in South Africa Monday and placed under house arrest, Correctional Services spokesman Manelisi Wolela said. The former Olympic athlete had been in prison since October last year, when a judge sentenced him to five years for culpable homicide in the killing of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day 2013. He said he mistook her for an intruder. Last week a South African parole board said it had approved his placement under house arrest and correctional supervision for four years.

Man dies aboard Aer Lingus flight after biting passenger

In a bizarre incident Sunday, a man who was "running amok" on an Aer Lingus flight from Lisbon, Portugal to Dublin, Ireland died aboard the plane. According to the Irish Mirror, the man was acting violent on the flight and tried to bite at least one fellow passenger. A pilot told controllers the man had "injured one or two passengers," according to the paper. The man was reportedly restrained by crew members but fell unconscious, and was later declared dead. The plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Cork, Ireland. The Mirror says all 168 passengers and crew members were taken off the flight. At least one passenger was taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries.
