INEC officer, three other female bodies found in room in Anambra

 

The bodies of four women including that of a female INEC officer, Mrs Chinwe Obi, who was the electoral officer for Onitsha South Local Government Area have been found dead inside her home situated on Olisa Onyeka Crescent near the Commissioners’ quarters in Awka GRA, Anambra state yesterday September 9th.



According to reports, the other thee women believed to be church members had come to commiserate with Mrs Obi whose husband who just returned from Cotonou about a week ago had died in the same house.

The other three women were found dead with their bibles still in their hands.

The state commissioner of police, Hosea Karma said the police was alerted after several calls made to Mrs Obi were unanswered so family members decides to check on her and on searching her house, they discovered the bodies of all the women.

He ruled out murder as none of the women had any bruises on them.

He said their bodies have been deposited at the state mortuary while investigations into the matter is ongoing.

There is a strong and angry reaction to this on social media with the hashtag #IStandwithAhmed. 14 year old Ahmed Mohamed was arrested after he'd made a clock at home and brought it into MacArthur High School in Irving to show his engineering teacher who congratulated him. Another teacher who heard it's beeping sound during class, saw it and believed it looked like a bomb, alerted school authorities who called the police.
