Senate President mourns death of clerk

The news of the death of Mr. Adedotun Durojaiye, the acting clerk of the Senate took the Senators in the red chambers by surprise.
Punch Newspapers reports that the Senate President, Bukola Saraki expressed his shock at Durojaiye’s death.

Speaking through his media aide, Yusuph Olaniyonu, the Senate President said “We in the National Assembly and in particular, the Senate, received the news of the demise of Durojaiye with great shock.
“He was a vibrant and exceptional public officer. He was there at the inception of this Eight Senate. He conducted the elections of presiding officers. We will surely miss his vast experience, his vibrancy and commitment to legislative duties.”
“My candid advice to the bereaved family is to strengthen their faith in God. We should also know that death is an inevitable end for all humans. I pray God to give you the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss,” Saraki said.

There is a strong and angry reaction to this on social media with the hashtag #IStandwithAhmed. 14 year old Ahmed Mohamed was arrested after he'd made a clock at home and brought it into MacArthur High School in Irving to show his engineering teacher who congratulated him. Another teacher who heard it's beeping sound during class, saw it and believed it looked like a bomb, alerted school authorities who called the police.
