Tyshawn Lee was
a nine years old elementary school student walking to a relative home
when he was lured and cornered by his father’s gang member and shot
dead.
According to reports by Chicago tribune, Authorities have called on the child's father, Pierre Stokes, to cooperate with them in solving the murder that they described as "absolutely hateful."
At
first, the police from the neighbourhood thought probably the little
boy just happened to have been at the wrong place at the wrong time but
there was more when the people from the neighbourhood came forward with
information about his father's gang affiliation.
With more investigations the Chicago police department released details about the child's murder, that Tyshawn was targeted because of recent violence between two gangs, one of which his father is a member.

What is still shocking is that the victim father who happens to be part of the gang is not willing to cooperate fully.
“He
potentially knows who did this. He potentially knows the background of
the feud he was involved in, It’s so heinous that a criminal enterprise
would target the child of another gang member, he emphatically
communicated he has nothing to tell us," said Anthony Guglielmi, chief spokesman of the Chicago Police Department.
Investigations are still ongoing and a local Catholic priest Rev. Michael Pfleger,
pastor of Chicago's St. Sabina Church and a well-known anti-violence
has also said he's committed to justice for the boy and offered to pay
money out of his own pocket to help anyone with information move from
Chicago.
